本剧改编自早见和真的同名小说，描绘了马主家族波澜起伏二十年的故事。税务师栗须荣治（妻夫木聪 饰）在父亲去世后内心空虚，因一张靠新手运气压中的马券，机缘巧合之下成为了人力派遣公司“皇室人力”的独裁社长山王耕造（佐藤浩市 饰）的秘书。山王痴迷赛马，一心追求冠以“皇室”之名的马匹获胜，二人携手进军有马纪念赛。与此同时，山王的情人之子中条耕一（目黑莲 饰）也出现了...
