故事讲述了不知自己身世，前来翠雨山庄投亲的女子怜香，在山庄被毁后无奈流落异乡，幸得郡王白忆寒收留进府当了随从。白忆寒奉命密查民间公主下落，却不知近在咫尺的小随从就是他要找的人，一番有惊无险，抓马百出的调查后，白忆寒揭开了怜香的公主身份，也探出了一直暗中阻挠怜香认亲的幕后主使就是咏怡公主。面对亲姐的加害，怜香却在危难时舍身救姐姐，血浓于水的亲情使姐妹俩和好，怜香也在众人的祝福下与白忆寒成亲。
